Fur means authenticity and natural heritage. No two furs are ever the same. And fur itself cannot be replicated. Fur provides the designer with a fabric that is visually stunning, opulent, beautiful, soft, gentle, transformable and, by its nature, inspirational. In short, fur is the ultimate in luxury.

Appreciation of the beautiful and precious is a basic human instinct.   In medieval times, by ancient law, fur was so special that only the privileged few – kings, queens and the nobility – could wear it. The desire for fur, at once the pinnacle of ceremonial and functional style, prevailed for generations in many cultures.

Fur remains one of the most luxurious fabrics around, designers and consumers love it.   Choosing a fur is an emotional experience; a fur will always make the wearer always feel and look special.   A fur will last a long, long time, it is the opposite of throw-away fashion.   A fur is not only worn with pride, it is created with pride and care at every stage of its production.

  • North American
    Canada was built on the fur trade, its border with the USA follows territories staked out by competing fur companies 400 years ago. The search for furs to trade in Europe was the catalyst for the settlement of many areas within the USA and Canada by Europeans. First Nation peoples of the USA and Canada traded the furs they hunted with these early settlers.

  • Asian
    Fur has been important to the cultures of Asia for millennia. Fur remains extremely popular in China, Hong Kong, Korea and Japan, both as a practical solution to the extreme cold experienced in some Asian climates and as a fashion must have.

  • Russian
    Films such as Dr Zhivago and Catherine the Great have brought the Russian tradition for fur to a wider audience. Temperatures can sink below -50 degrees Celsius during the winter and fur has always been the practical and beautiful solution to living in the Russian climate.

  • European
    Fur is the oldest fabric known to man. In the colder climates of the northern hemisphere it has always been essential, but fur has also always been highly valued and traded in Southern Europe.
