Hong Kong has long been known as one of the biggest garment exporters in the world, yet many may not realise that this cosmopolitan in South East Asia also claims the globe’s largest fur exporter and fur trading centre! With decades of experience and expertise in fur production and exports, Hong Kong furriers are today shipping their stylish fur accessories and apparel to different corners in the world, gracing the racks of reputable stores and boutiques in traditional as well as emerging markets.
Fur – the fashion staple
Nowadays, fur has become a fashion staple, best exemplified by their frequent exposures on international catwalks and in fashion magazines. Thanks to the innovation of advancing techniques, these have been used cleverly by Hong Kong furriers to design and manufacture modern fur apparel which has never been more versatile – suiting not only different lifestyle occasions, but also the preferences and climates of different markets. In short, “Fur by Hong Kong” has become a well recognised high quality label in the fashion world.
The calendar event of the fur industry
As an international fur trade centre, Hong Kong will take centre stage again in coming February 16-18 – when the Hong Kong International Fur & Fashion Fair takes place at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.
In no doubt the upcoming event is going to be another bonanza. An exceptionally all-rounded range of exhibits, ranging from raw materials to fur apparel and accessories will be in the limelight. The total exhibition space will reach 30,000 square meters to congregate over 210 local and overseas exhibitors from 13 countries and regions, including two national pavilions from Germany and Greece.
