In response, the FT printed a wonderful letter on inherited fur from Jim Adams talking positively about a similar dilemma he faced and how he used the services of a fur ‘restyler’ to “tranform his mother’s mink coat into a reversible gilet, some bobbles for his children’s hats and some trim for gloves for his wife.”
Online responses to Gillian Tett’s original article have been similarly informed and the debate that has taken place is unusual in its maturity compared to the vitriol that is generally hurled at our industry by people who have little knowledge of how it really operates.
