The OA^TM initiative was developed by the International Fur Trade Federation (IFTF) in collaboration with four leading international fur auction houses: American Legend Cooperative, Finnish Fur Sales/SAGA Furs, Kopenhagen Fur and North American Fur Auctions. Other auction houses will be applying to join the initiative.

The programme is administered by the IFTF.
Independent monitoring is a key feature of the programme.
This is provided by Cotecna, an international monitoring organisation.
The programme is actively supported by the fur trade with the number of OA^TM retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers growing continuously.
The participating auctions houses are responsible for distributing the OA^TM labels together with the relevant invoices that clearly identify the fur as OA^TM.

Labels can either be integrated or stand-alone.

At the moment, the OA^TM mark has been integrated into the quality labels of Finnish Fur Sales/SAGA Furs Oyj and Kopenhagen Fur.
It is likely to be integrated into quality labels of other participating auction houses over time.

OA stand-alone label/hangtag will always be available from participating auction houses.
Auction house quality labels, without OA™mark, will continue to be attached, as appropriate, to non-OA™ skins.
